Mills & Jones represents individuals, domestic and foreign motor carriers, freight brokers, logistics companies, and insurance companies. Since 2003, the practice has gradually honed its expertise in commercial transportation litigation, while also handling claims involving occupational accident benefits, contract disputes, insurance subrogation, and products liability.
We specialize in preparing each case we receive for trial to achieve the best result for our clients. As a small law firm, we can respond to our clients and issues quickly. We are centrally located in Norman, Oklahoma, and we serve clients throughout North America.
Mills & Jones traces its beginnings to 1959 when the firm’s patriarch, Earl D. Mills, began practicing law in Oklahoma and became a founding member of the prestigious law firm Foliart, Mills & Niemeyer. Earl then established the law firm of Mills & Whitten with Reggie N. Whitten and Earl’s two sons, Wayne Mills and Robert “Bob” Mills. Mills & Whitten primarily focused on civil defense work for major insurance companies and other corporations.
In 1996, Earl left Mills & Whitten and started the Mills Law Firm with his youngest son, Bob. The following year, Bob hired Daniel K. Jones, a recent graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law as a new associate attorney. In 2000, after over 40 years of practicing law, Earl retired and left his practice to Bob. In 2002, Robert and Dan tried their first big case together and received a multimillion dollar verdict in their client’s favor. In 2009, Bob and Dan formed Mills & Jones. Earl remains of counsel at Mills & Jones, and is a living legend in the Oklahoma legal community. In April 2015, Earl was honored through recognition by The Best Lawyers in America®.
Combined, the attorneys at Mills & Jones have over 100 years of experience. Bob and Dan have tried over 100 cases — including trying over 50 cases jointly — in their 20 years of practicing law together. They have represented both plaintiffs and defendants, and regularly litigate high-value personal injury, tort, and commercial auto accident claims.
Mills & Jones considers being a small firm an asset. Keeping our practice small has allowed us to foster valuable, long-lasting relationships with our clients based on ease of communication, availability, and legal expertise.
